Being an introvert doesn’t necessarily mean that you want to quit your job. Many introverts are quite happy working in a team environment.
As for me, I’m the type of introvert that feels more productive working on my own. I was never a fan of working with other people.
I have always wanted to work for myself, by myself, and now that is exactly what I do using the internet.
If you feel the same way, I will share with you some internet based business ideas for introverts that you can start today.
Why Introverts Excel at Operating Online Businesses
Many online businesses don’t require a huge team to operate them. In fact, many online business owners work solo.
Unless you are selling physical goods that you are ordering and having shipped in, or manufacturing, in other words having to store actual product, you do not need a team of employees to operate an online business.
The online business models that I will share below do not require any inventory of your own. You can operate each of these businesses by yourself.
These are ideal business models for any introvert that feels more productive and creative working on their own.
Even better, each of these business models have unlimited earning potential and little to no overhead cost.
Introverts Do Not Need to Feed Off of the Energy of Others
Many introverts tend to work much better without the noise and distractions that come with working in an office environment or even a retail space.
In a typical business environment, most managers will have employees working in teams or feel the need to hold meetings in order to increase productivity.
An online business can be run from anywhere with an internet connection. Therefore, if you feel more productive working out of your own home or even a coffee shop you can do so.
These types of online businesses require focus and introverts are experts at focusing when they are left alone.
They do not need to feed off of the energy of others to make progress and to remain productive.
The Top Internet Based Business Ideas for Introverts
Affiliate marketing is the promotion of other company’s products and/or services in exchange for a commission when a sale is made.
As an introvert myself, I chose affiliate marketing as the first online business model to escape from the rat race.
When I discovered affiliate marketing many years ago from a job interview that I went on, I immediately knew it was the path I was going to take.
Unfortunately, because I was addicted to a paycheck every two weeks, it took a job layoff for me to begin taking affiliate marketing seriously.
Sometimes life has to kick you in the junk in order for you to break the routine of what’s actually holding you back from your true potential.
That being said, I will now share why affiliate marketing is one of my all-time favorite online business models.
- You do not need a product of your own
- You can work from anywhere with a Wi-Fi connection
- Unlimited earning potential
- No shipping or handling
- No customer service
- Time freedom
- Lifestyle freedom
There are many ways to go about affiliate marketing. Most of the information you will find online will promote using pay-per-click marketing to make sales.
I came across such information and pay-per-click was not an ideal solution for me as I never had a budget to pay for ads.
I sought out an affiliate training course in which you learn how to create niche websites and drive free targeted traffic to them.
This is the strategy that I use today to earn a consistent income online. There are four essential steps required to get started:
- Choose a niche that you have a genuine interest in
- Create your website using WordPress
- Generate free targeted traffic to your website using content creation
- Earn revenue from your website using affiliate marketing
Building niche websites are one of the tried-and-true methods of earning income online. This is because you create valuable content that actually helps people.
When you provide value through your content, you are also establishing trust and building authority. Your visitors are more likely to buy a product or service that you recommend.
The dropshipping model is another great online business for introverts. It is similar to affiliate marketing in that you do not need to have any product of your own to get started.
What is required is having an eCommerce platform, a niche that you want to sell in, and dropshipping suppliers.
Dropshipping works by placing products from your dropshipping suppliers into your eCommerce store.
When customers buy the products in your store, you pay for those products through your dropshipping suppliers.
You also pass along your customer’s shipping information so that your dropshipping suppliers can ship the items directly to your customers for you.
The difference in price between what you charge your customers and what the dropshipping suppliers charge you is your profit.
I have done quite a bit of research on dropshipping and the best way to get started. One of the most widely used dropshipping suppliers online is AliExpress.
There are many reasons why dropshippers utilized AliExpress for sourcing products. They include:
- 200,000 exporters
- Over 100 million items
- No entry or participation fees
- No limits on your profit margins
- No limits on the amount of products you sell
- Works with individuals and registered companies
- Free shipping on most items
- Ships to over 200 countries worldwide
- Online shipping tracking
- Wide range of shipping methods
- Buyer protection system with full money back guarantee
One of the easiest and lowest-cost ways to get your eCommerce store up and running is by using WordPress.
The reason AliDropship is my ideal choice for creating dropshipping stores is that there are no recurring monthly fees to use it.
The money that you save on monthly fees can be put towards your marketing efforts.
If you prefer running an online store versus creating niche websites, then dropshipping can work well for you.
No prior experience is necessary. People with very little eCommerce experience have managed to create full-time businesses with dropshipping.

These are the two online business models that attract me the most as an introvert. Both of these businesses can be run with very minimal expense.
They both enable you to work on your own and if you are currently working full-time, you can pursue either of these business models on a part-time basis.
That is exactly what I did when starting my online business. I worked on my business before work, after work, and on my days off.
Eventually, I was able to quit my job and transition into working for myself full-time. More than anything, hard work, and consistent effort are what is needed the most.
I hope that this post has helped you and figuring out some new business models to consider. You can learn more about each of these by clicking on the links below.
