Long tail keywords are not only great for generating free organic web traffic, they are also great for converting visitors into buyers.
You can create a list of long tail keywords using free methods. Chances are you’ve already gone that route and have quickly realized it is very time-consuming.
A good keyword tool can save you tons of time. Not only that, a keyword tool can provide other helpful information such as keyword competitiveness which will allow you to select the best keywords for your campaigns.
Why Use Longtail Keywords?
The number one reason to use long tail keywords is that you can rank very well for them in the search engines.
Broad keywords are less targeted and have way too much competition. For example, let’s say your business is life coaching.
If you targeted the keyword “life coach” you would be competing with websites such as Yelp, PsychologyToday, Forbes, FastCompany, NY Times, and other popular life coaching websites.
Rather than target those broad keywords, you could target more specific, long tail keywords such as:
- life coach in [your city]
- online life coach
- holistic life coach
- life coach for kids
- [your city] life coach
Ranking for these long tail keywords would be much easier and the people using these keywords in their search are highly likely to convert into new clients!
Popular Keyword Tools Price Comparisons
Using a high-quality keyword tool can help you research much faster and choose the best keywords for all of your campaigns.
Whether you are writing highly targeted articles for your website or you are setting up highly targeted PPC campaigns, a good keyword tool is invaluable for your business.
There are a lot of great keyword tools on the market. However, some are very expensive. The monthly costs can eat into your budget when you are starting out.
It is easy to think that going with the most expensive keyword tool will give you the best results.
The good news is that there is an affordable keyword tool that is easy to use and provides a variety of useful information. This tool is called Jaaxy.
Here is a list of the most popular keyword tools and their lowest monthly prices:
|Keyword Tool||Monthly Price|
|Wordtracker||$27 (minimum 3 month term)|
As you can see from the table above, the prices are a bit high for the most part. Don’t let the low monthly price of Jaaxy fool you.
It is an awesome keyword tool with great features. For $19 a month, Jaaxy provides:
- Unlimited keyword searches
- Keyword Competition Analysis
- Instant Competition (QSR)
- Alphabet Soup Search

How Easy Jaaxy is to Use and Understand
I have used other keyword tools in the past, particularly Long Tail Pro. I owned Long Tail Pro and while it is a great keyword tool, I had problems with it.
For one thing, it isn’t web based the way Jaaxy is. It runs using Adobe Air so it requires downloading and installing software.
After awhile, it began to become cumbersome to use. Maybe it was the Adobe Air software or the program it self. Either way, the searches were taking a long time to return results.
I’m sure there have been many improvements over the years but as far as I know, it still requires Adobe Air to run.
Jaaxy is web based so the software is online and no downloading of anything is required. The search results are fast!
Here is a screenshot of a search I performed for the keyword “bicycle car racks”:
Those are only a handful of the keywords which were returned. They are long tail keywords and almost all of them are great choices for writing targeted articles or PPC campaigns.
How to Understand Jaaxy Keyword Results
Once you know what each column indicates, understanding the keyword results is a piece of cake. Let’s take a look at what each column means:
Avg – The average number of searches the keyword receives per month.
Traffic – Visits to your website if you receive first page ranking in the search engines.
QSR – Quoted Search Results: the number of competing websites ranked in Google for this exact keyword.
KQI – Keyword Quality Indicator: green is great, yellow is OK, red is poor.
SEO – A score based on traffic and competition, the higher the score, the more likely you will rank for this keyword on the first page. Scale of 1-100. Higher = better.
Domains – The availability of domains related to the keyword.
It really is that simple. When I do keyword research using Jaaxy, I look at the average monthly searches and make sure the QSR is under 100.
If you want to rank even faster, you can search for QSR 50 and under. However, for the most part, a QSR under 300 is also good.
Jaaxy is a pretty awesome long tail keyword research software tool.
