After running some errands, we decided to visit the Self-Realization Fellowship in Encinitas. It had been awhile since we’ve visited. If you haven’t heard of it, the Self-Realization Fellowship (SFR) is an international religious organization founded by Paramahansa Yogananda in 1920.
The grounds are beautifully landscaped and suited for quiet and meditation. They have about 3 or 4 koi ponds and all types of trees and flowers that many people stop to take pictures of. There are also several places to sit all around in which you will find people sitting in meditation.
It is important to keep your voice low as not to disturb those who are meditating. We then walked towards the top of another section and got a great view of the beach. I tried to meditate but the humidity was distracting. I know that defeats the point of meditation.
Besides all of that, the weather was gloomy and I debated about taking photos. However, you cannot deny the beauty of the ocean waves.
Dream Homes Magazine and Juice Crafters in Encinitas
After we left the Self-Realization Fellowship, we headed over to The Lumberyard area to browse the shops and pick up the latest issue of Dream Homes San Diego from the Sotheby’s real estate brokerage.
I used to buy that magazine in the bookstore years ago not realizing that it an advertisement for all of the high-end homes available in San Diego. I love looking at all of the amazing homes in this city. Their locations, views, amenities, and architecture are so beautiful.
While we were walking around we discovered Juice Crafters. What a cool little juice shop! The customer service was awesome and we got our favorite blend of carrot, apple, and ginger which was already on their menu.
I recommend checking them out if you’re in the area. Make sure you check into Yelp when you do. There is a coupon code.
Overall, it was another amazing day and another reason to love living in San Diego. Encinitas is a great area to visit or live in.
