Shawarma, Asian Food, and Bloomingdales

Today was a most awesome day! We drove down to Mira Mesa for lunch with the family. We met up at The Kebab Shop, one of our favorite lunch spots. I ordered a mixed meat shawarma which consisted of lamb and chicken (pictured below).

It was delicious! If you are in San Diego and haven’t ventured out to The Kebab Shop, add it to your to-do list. You won’t regret it.

After lunch, we headed over to H Mart Asian market which is right next door. This was our first time stopping in and we were like kids in a candy store. There were so many cool food items to try. They have a hot food section, sushi, and a large amount of seafood. You can find just about every Asian food item in this place. We also got a few baked items from Paris Baguette which is located inside the market. The chocolate bread is a new fave for us. The store is huge, clean, and organized. We will definitely make a visit to this market again.

Finally, we made a stop at Bloomingdales at the Fashion Valley Mall. We were going to the Jo Malone counter in particular. I had smelled one fragrance (amber and lavender) and it impressed me enough to be excited about smelling more. Thanks to my mom, I was fortunate enough to leave with a bottle of Orris and Sandalwood. It smells so good! Honestly, there wasn’t a Jo Malone fragrance I didn’t like.

I’m not much of a shopper but I really enjoyed browsing Bloomingdales. There are some really high-ticket items there. Expensive brands that I’ve heard of but never took the time to peruse. I like browsing high-quality items. Things aren’t expensive without being worth it (for the most part.) I have come to the belief of purchasing quality so that you are not purchasing the same item 6-months later because it is made cheaply.

Overall, we all had a great day spending some quality time together as well as doing a bit of shopping in between.
