I think everyone should have a side hustle. Looking back, I wish I had developed a better side hustle while I was at my last place of employment. I think the 3 home based web business ideas I outline below can help if you are seeking a new side hustle.
Having a side business would have saved me a lot of frustration. I’ve never enjoyed working in a cube or for anyone else for that matter. A good side hustle can develop into a full-time income if you are dedicated to it.
People everywhere are disgruntled and ready to start some type of home based business. If you find yourself in the same situation, keep reading. These ideas may help you spark more ideas or you could actually try one for yourself.
You never know where a side hustle can take you and it’s worth developing one sooner than later.
Home Based Web Business Ideas You Can Start Right Away
Resell Items on Ebay
The first of three home based web business ideas I will suggest is one that we currently do ourselves. It is reselling items on eBay. This is one of the easiest side hustles to begin because you can start with items you already own.
Most people begin by selling items they no longer use in their home. You would be surprised at the types of things that will sell. Clothes, electronics, accessories, video games, books, and more. You name it and chances are it sells on eBay.
There is a bit of a learning curve, particularly with shipping on eBay. Don’t fret. You will get the hang of it quickly. What I recommend is reading all of the eBay guidelines and documentation so that you know how to create a good listing and how to ship your items in a cost effective way.
You may or may not be familiar with the term affiliate marketing. However, you may be familiar with the term “make money online”. Essentially, affiliate marketing is a way to make money online by referring other people’s products for a commission.
I have been doing affiliate marketing off and on over the years. I have made sales quite often but never took it seriously enough to generate a steady income. This was because I didn’t have guidance or a plan.
This is all changing now since I found Wealthy Affiliate. Wealthy Affiliate is a training program that takes you by the hand and teaches you how to create a niche website around any topic that interests you.
The best part is, they train you on how to create a website and generate affiliate income from it for years. There are some members of the program who are making full-time income from one website.
The community is awesome and I am beyond impressed with how the program works. Trust me when I say it’s worth signing up to. I’m skeptical about most things and I have learned a ton about building niche sites.
If you sign up, be sure to follow me and I’ll follow you back so that we can track each other’s progress.
Freelance / Consulting
This is the least favorite of all side hustles for me. The reason being is that freelance work is equivalent to having a job. The only difference is, you have more of a say-so in who you want to work for.
Some people truly enjoy freelance work. They enjoy the service they provide as well as providing awesome customer service. However, you are still trading your time for money. I personally prefer earning income online.
It still requires effort but the potential is unlimited. The sooner you start, the better. I only wished I had started much sooner and stuck to it. I also wish I had discovered Wealthy Affiliate sooner. I would be so much farther ahead by now.
There are many, many ways to start a home-based business. Hopefully, the above may help you generate your own home based web business ideas or at least start with one or two to see what clicks for you.
