One key component to creating content for your niche websites is a good keyword tool.
When you are creating content on a regular basis, it is important that it ranks well in the search engine result pages.
To help ensure that you are writing content that will rank, it helps to use a keyword tool to do long tail keyword research.
Before I write any of my blog posts, I make sure to do keyword research so that I can choose a good title. It is rare that I write a post without having done any long tail keyword research first.
What is a Long Tail Keyword?
Depending on how long you’ve been marketing online, you are probably already familiar with long tail keywords and how they benefit your content.
A long tail keyword is a keyword that has low competition in the search results. For example, if you were to write an article for the keyword “credit cards”, it would be almost impossible to rank on the first page of any search engine results page.
This is because the search term “credit cards” is very broad. There is way too much competition, especially with authority websites that already rank well.
A better option to consider would be a long tail keyword such as “credit cards that earn points.” Notice how this search term is more specific.
This search term has far less competition in the search engines which gives you a much better chance of ranking on page one of the search results.
Even better is the fact that the people who search for this term are looking for a specific type of credit card—one that earns points.
You could link to a credit card affiliate program in your article or earn income from PPC (pay-per-click) advertising.
The Easiest Long Tail Keyword Research Tool I’ve Ever Used
My long tail keyword research tool of choice is Jaaxy. I’ve used other keyword research tools in the past and Jaaxy is by far one of the easiest.
The screenshot above is a screenshot of Jaaxy keyword search results for the term “credit cards”.
The green KQI (keyword quality indicator) results mean the keyword is great, yellow means it is OK, and red means it is poor. It is as simple as that.
Avg means the number of searches the keyword receives per month, Traffic is the number of visitors your page would receive if you rank on the first page of the search engines, QSR is the number of competing websites ranked in Google, and SEO is a score based on traffic and competition.
Other features of the keyword tool include:
- Alphabet Soup feature
- Saved Lists
- Search History
- Search Analysis
- Brainstorm feature
